Secondary Glazing

Tech Spec

Back to Technical Specifications

Winterglaze® Secondary Glazing is designed to reduce heat loss through inefficient single-pane windows, by adding an insulation layer to existing windows to keep more heat inside the home. The secondary glazing can be fitted to existing windows, whether aluminium or timber and has been designed to offer some of the best thermal resistance for existing windows, especially when combined with speciality glazing glasses and gases.

The creation of a layer between the existing single window pane and the secondary unit provides all-important thermal insulation; reducing heat loss, and increasing noise control. Many options of types of glass and acrylic exist and the Winterglaze units have also been designed to incorporate ventilation and reduce fogging (a common issue with other secondary glazing products.) Unique to Winterglaze Secondary glazing units, these can also be designed with integrated/interchangeable insect screens.
